Airport Ambassadors Program
The Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport’s Ambassadors program is a customer service initiative to make sure all passengers feel at home the minute they arrive at BHM. Currently, we are looking for individuals to join the Airport Ambassadors Program. This volunteer opportunity provides a courteous and friendly welcome as well as general assistance to travelers at BHM. Airport Ambassador duties include:
- Greeting travelers
- Engaging patrons in conversation
- Guiding people through the terminal
- Answering general questions travelers may have
- Helping out during events
- Telling travelers about new amenities and events going on
- Storytelling time
- Community Tours
Those interested in becoming an Airport Ambassador must have a passion for helping others and the city of Birmingham. Volunteers will learn about Alabama’s busiest airport and how it operates, as well as get to interact with people from all over the world on a daily basis. This is a customer service position with a lot of talking involved so having good communication skills is a must. Each volunteer will attend an orientation session and complete one training shift. To be eligible to become an Ambassador, you must be at least 18 years old and commit to volunteering once a week for a minimum of three months. If you are interested, please send an email to info@flybirmingham.com with “Airport Ambassadors” in the subject line.
