Potential- Scholarships & Information!

Did You Know?
Only 32% of college students will graduate college within 4 years. Another 30% will graduate within 5-6 years. The other 3rd will drop out. Teens should explore AP classes, summer classes, and dual enrollment.
Scholarships of the Week







Carson Scholars Fund Scholarship
Award: $1,000
Eligibility: 
Students must attend an accredited K-12 school in the United States.
An interested student must be nominated by his/her school to be able to compete for a Carson Scholarship.
It is up to a school how to determine its nominee.
The minimum requirements are a 3.75 GPA and involvement in community service.
Deadline: December 20, 2019
Administered by: The Carson Scholar Fund, Inc.
The Linly Heflin Scholarship
Award: Up to $7,000 per academic year.
Eligibility: 
 A limited number of applicants who have both economic needs and proven academic records. Scholarships are restricted to Alabama women who are United States citizens attending four-year Alabama colleges or universities.
Deadline: December 31, 2019
Administered by: The Linly Heflin Unit

Students who take AP courses in high school tend to be better prepared to handle the work that college professors dole out, and that's definitely something worth considering. What's the wise move: Honors or regular classes?
