Updates from the University of South Alabama

Greetings from the University of South Alabama.

Last week I wrote to tell you that we have made our application free until May 1. Students can apply to the University of South Alabama without an application fee by using the code SOUTHFORME.

Now, we have some additional updates. Please share these with your students:

  • Because there will be no ACT or SAT testing this spring, we have waived the testing requirement for all students with GPA’s of 3.0 and above. Those students will be automatically admitted to South. We will carefully review students with GPA’s of 2.5 to 2.99, and still consider them for admission with, as appropriate, the use of additional materials such as essays and letters of recommendation.
  • We have launched a virtual visit credit. Students will receive $100 if they meet with our recruiters over Zoom and then enroll at South. This is available until June 1. Students can sign up here
  • We have launched need-based funding for students and will be making awards over the next few weeks. These renewable grants will help even more students make a great South education possible.
  • We continue to offer generous merit awards to all new applicants, and plan to do so well into the summer.
